Have you noticed something strange about the 1911 census entry for John Connell's family?
Son Thomas is aged 1 yr 6 mo but next is 'sister' Mary Connell aged 1 year 3 mo.

Oh yes and they had 3 children with only 2 living.
So Mary is John's sister!
Not impossible but that is one big gap if it's correct.
Worth finding his parents just to see their ages.

If Mary was John's sister, then perhaps the parents (or at least the mother) was dead. Another possibility to keep in mind is that the child could have been a sister to John's wife and called Connell because they were raising her.

Hi sinnan and aghadowey.Yes we both spotted that ages ago and its driving us mad!John was actually 29 in 1901.This is what is puzzling my husband.Never thought that it could be the wife's sister. We noticed one thing though. On the surname for baby Mary it looks like there was something else written first and then Connell written over.
The only thing we found this morning was a death for a Thomas Connell(John's Dad?)in 1908.Mary was born in 1910.Maybe the mother remarried :-\

John had a sister Mary Ellen who would have been 5 in 1901( died in 1908)

And than there was also this child.

Desmond Ave is on the historic 25" map on OSI.ie running parallel and between Wolfe Tone Ave and Tivoli Terrace east, not sure it there on the older map, need to look at it on a computer rather than a pad.
The dates of those maps are in a post here somewhere I'll have a look

Yes Mikebro posted the other day
I'm not sure the date of the historic map.
Edit: 25" is 1907-1908, 6" is 1837

So yes need to know if it existed in 1901. Good thinking jnoone.

Wolf Tone Ave doesn't appear in 1901 either

Found this, haven't read it all but the person is also looking for Heoy's.

Also it says Wolfe Tone Ave completed 1904 so good chance Desmond built about the same.
