Hi

If you look at IGI for Shropshire you will also see lots of Edwards over a hundred or so years.

You didn't mention whether you had found the 4 children of Joseph and Mary.  These are
their Christening dates just in case.

Joseph   c  22nd May 1742   at Clun  parents Joseph and Mary
Thomas     29th April 1743
John          13th May  1744
Jeremiah    14th July  1751
There seems to be a large gap between John and Jeremiah so presume they
had children that died at birth or not long after?

You might need a few hours to go through all the Edwards so good luck

regards Sandymc
Midgley, Fowler, Chadwick, Kilvington, Routledge, Hewitt, Stevenson, Ward, Waite, Binks , Buck, Pearson,  Stanley, Firth, Child, Hobson, Rogers, all Leeds and Yorkshire for centuaries except the Routledges from Wigton, Cumbria and Middlesbrough. Related to McAllisters of Wilsontown

Hi both of you and many thanks for your replies - yes I realise that there are lots of Edwards prior to 1812 however it is difficult to establish whether or not they are related. I have Joseph Edwards as b about 1709 but have not been able to access the original parish registers to find his birth and the name of his father. I understand that I would have to go to Shropshire archives to view these as there is no record on line.
I did have the dates for Joseph and Mary's children but thank you anyhow.I am related through Jeremiah who later moved to Bleddfa, Powys
Again many thanks for your response.
