Karen and anyone else

Be careful of the dates!

I found my great aunt and it states she died 10 June 2001 (10.6.2001)

She actually died 6.10.2001

It also states her death was registered 10 August 2001 (10.8.2001)

It was actually registered 8.10.2001

It looks like they're getting some of the days/months the wrong way round.

Re: the dates mixed up.
This would be the American date system (where 10/8/01 = Oct 8 2001), versus that of most other English-speaking people (where 10/8/01 = 10 Aug 2001), and an excellent illustration of why we should all write the month in letters rather than as a number.
This problem may have arisen if the transcription was done by Americans, or American-supervised non-English speakers, or using American software.  As we are now aware of the American date system on these records, we should all be able to read them accurately and translate them (or not)as necessary.
I hope that this isn't seen as "yank-bashing", but rather as help with translation.

Is this the same site - it is a link to a searchable database?
