hi,

my sister has some ww1 medals but we thought they were grandads on the other side of the family - ill ask her to dig them out -

his mothers name is harriett Scholes - they were living in Bolton on the 1911 census but hes listed as born in Ainsworth and that birth would have been registered in Bury at that time

ok sis said he fought in the midde East in ww1 and this is where he learnt how to drive and he used to drive the officers around and he used to wear a turban he was in the desert in Saudi Arabi

neither myself or my sister know much more but she says there should be more pictures (there are none) and the medals disappeared (we both have our own thoughts as to who has ended up with these but its not a blood family memebr but obvioulsy cant post on here )

not sure Carol the parents are Harriett and thomas but the age and dates fit - i would like to find more info about his service record and possibly who the lad is in the picture - if this uniform is called hospital blues does it mean they took the picture in hospital ?
