Hi Jim,
I don't think that is him.
1861  3261/ 103/29
has a Bernard Gallagher 12 yrs old with mother Margaret and in
1851  2295/ 404/ 34
as Barnet Galla Lyen.
They are a difficult family to trace though - seem to move around a bit.
regards
heywood

Yes it's tricky.
I notice in 1871 there's a William Mac quire 25 b.Huddersfield listed as son-in-law with Winfred Mac Quire 18 b. Derbys. listed as dau. -in- law.
I wonder if William is an illegitimate son of Ann Gallagher.

Hello I'm looking for a marriage in Ireland probly county Monaghan of a Hugh Gallagher to a Ann ? He was born about 1825 and Ann anout 1828  :)

Hi Alexis Sally,
I realise we rambled yesterday trying to find this marriage certificate - why do you think it is probably Monaghan? In 1871, it looks as though Hugh has Cavan as a birthplace?

1871 Bernard states Huddersfield as POB.
Probably this one:
GALLAGHER  Bernard  Sept. 1849  Huddersfield  22 350
it might be it was on a census it said he was born in Wales

I see it now  I was only looking at 1871  :)
1871 in Longwood Yorkshire Hugh and Ann show County 'Cavern' which I am assuming to be Cavan
1881 shows Monaghan
They are next door to each  other though.
