John Edward(Douglas ) Tunstall - born Brentford abt 1804
« on: Wednesday 31 July 13 20:10 BST (UK) »
Help please, I am trying to trace a John Edward Tunstall, although for his marriage he used the middle name of Douglas.  He married in Burslem Stoke on Trent in 1836 giving his name as John Douglas Tunstall a potter.  On every census until his death he is called John Edward Tunstall born Brentford approx 1804. His occupation on most census records I'd Draper.  I am trying to trace his birth and the names of his parents.

Hi Vicky

There are Tunstall baptisms at Brentford and Ealing which is the adjacent parish but nothing for John Edward with that timeframe.

There is this though

John Edward Tunstall
Baptism11 Aug 1799  at St George the Martyr Surrey
Parents John & Sarah Tunstall,

might be worth keeping this is mind.

Did John have any siblings that you know of?

Dawn

Thank you Dawn, that is a definite possible. I don't know anything about brothers or sisters.  I have not been able to trace him before his marriage.  The family he married into we're Bathwell from Burslem and their marriage was recorded in the staffordshire newspaper but it only gave her parents info.
