Edward Ross (LURGAN)
« on: Tuesday 30 July 13 18:39 BST (UK) »
Hi, Can anyone help me please , please, please find marriages of Edward Ross . His first marriage was around 1901/ 1904, because he had a son Thomas age 7 on the 1911 census born Lurgan .Edward was widowed.Edward was single in 1901 They were living in New st. Lurgan. Whats more important to me is his 2nd marriage and was still living in New St Lurgan in 1923. All I know is that his wife,s name was Maria , had 3 daughters one being Sarah Ann Ross. Would really appreciate some help with this. Fingers Crossed ,   Regards Shell,

From searching a few databases-
Jan./Mar.1902 Lurgan district (Armagh) Edward ROSS to Mary Moore or Mary Lyttle
Oct./Dec.1904 Lurgan district Edward ROSS to ? (Eleanor Lunn, Anna Maria Kelly, Isabella Sparks or Sarah Jane Anderson)
Jan./Mar.1915 Lurgan district (Down) Edward ROSS to Maria Cairns

Thankyou so much for the information you found for me. It looks like Edward married 3 times, not 2. Really appreciate your help on this . You're a star

Hi,
I can only find two of Aghadowey's marriages. The 1902 to Mary Lyttle took place in Shankill Church of Ireland, Lurgan and the 1915 to Maria Cairns in Waringstown Church of Ireland, Lurgan District.

Regards
Stewart, Irwin, Morrison, Haslett, Murrell - Dungiven area Co. Londonderry

Hi Kingerswell,
Thankyou so much for the Edward Ross marriages,
The marriage of Maria Cairns is the direct line I am interested in, Tried to find her on the 1901 census but no luck , Was trying to find her parents but that is the joy of family history, you have to keep breaking thro' the brick walls . Lol
Thanks again for your information, its much appreciated.
Regards
Shell

I listed 3 marriages for an Edward Ross but did not say they were all for the same person.

Emerald Ancestors search showed 2 of them (the ones kingskerswell mentioned) but Family Search revealed an additional one-

Hi Aghadowey,
I have looked on the 1911 census and 1901 census could only find 1 Edward Ross so it MAY  be possible he married 3 times,  It certainly gives me something to look into and work out some dates ,  Thankyou for sending me the fanily search details,
Regards Shell

Never assume- a different Edward Ross could have married and died or moved out of the area, etc.

'Your' Edward Ross died in 1929- "Ross Edward of Lurgan county Armagh dairyman died 15 May 1929 Administration Belfast 18 July to Maria Ross the widow. Effects £464 14s."
