Thanks, KHP.   :)

Seems then that family were in Wellington/Hutt area from 1905-06 till March 1911 - so burial place for small daughter Beatrice (1907) is quite probably Lower Hutt (Taita).

Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much for all your help.  It is really appreciated.

I know about the burial in Hamilton and that they separated/divorced, and about their first child being born in Oz (in Picton, NSW)
John Beresford Burrell Paxton's real name was John James Paxton born 1857 in London.  He was the blacksheep of the family and was a Remittance Man (paid to stay away from England) but I dont know why.  He is a very illusive fellow as I cant find him after 1871 where he was at boarding school.  After that I cant find him until 1893 in an electoral roll in NZ.

Diana Ellen Paxton nee Wilson was also born in England but lived in NZ with the rest of her family when she married John in 1895….down near Wellington.

Im just on my way out but I dont think I have Beatrice in the family tree and will check it out later today.

Thanks in the meantime

Gillie

But you do have him in NZ newspaper articles - (as John James) - September 1878 - Police Court at Auckland, do you ??
