Hi,
A Susan Galbraith was born in Kilkeel to Patrick Galbraith and Mary McGonnell. However the birth was registered in 1871. It is possible that this Susan died and the next girl born to the couple was also named Susan.

As you can see from the above results of searching for births and marriages, it's possible there were at least 2 couples with similar names having children around the same time. If the children are all siblings then there was an incredible amount of moving about in very short spaces of time. You will probably need to start with the 1878 birth certificate for Susanna (if this is the link you are trying to persue) and establish an exact place of birth and father's occupation.

Both the 1865 and 1866 marriages took place in Kilkeel registration district so you may also need to look at both those marriage records and/or church records to try and sort this out.

Added- see that you were advised to get Susan Galbraith's marriage certificate last year- have you done so and if so, what details are listed?

Hi Louisa -I am wondering if your Susanna's mother is the Mary McGonigle/McGonnell from Kilkeel, Co Down?

If so, Mary may be my 2x great grandfather Michael McGonnell's sister.  He was born in 1837, from Moneydorragh, Kilkeel parish, and his father was Edward McGonnell (though appears as McGonigle in GV) and mother Rose Trainor.  I am interested in finding siblings of Michael, and more about his parents.

Michael joined the Royal Navy in 1858 and left around 1861, ending up in New Zealand, where he now has many descendents.
