Have you read the information on the FindMyPast page? I assume you got the details from there. You could try the email enquiry address of
certificate.services@ips.gsi.gov.uk In my experience the indexing (especially the regiment) is often wrong so it is better to limit the information you give to the bare minimum – name, year, volume and page.
You should certainly not accept "Further queries have gone unanswered". If you have tried the email route, then you need to get tough and start asking "can I have one of those forms to tell you what I think of your service" or eventually "it is still the Deputy Prime Minister's office who is responsible for your department.
The problem with civil servants is that they actually believe the rates they charge are reasonable. So it is always nice to remind them that Ireland provide BMDs for £3.50.
