1871 England Census - Higginbotham
« on: Thursday 25 July 13 09:07 BST (UK) »
I require a lookup please. Two child names: Joseph (b. 1859) and William Higginbotham (b. 1861).
Father, Joseph and mother, Elizabeth do appear on 1861 Census records. Elizabeth died or something happened to her. Joseph snr travelled to Australia in the latter 1860's without the 2 boys. I have an indication the 2 boys appeared on the 1971 Census in the Edmonton Union School.

Please would someone do a lookup and see if they can find them. The family was in the Middlesex area.

Thank you
Reg

Thanks Sarah.

Yes, the two boys seem to be institutionalised possibly after Elizabeth died. For whatever reason is a mystery.  Their father went to Australia where he had several wives and a large family of which I descend from. One of the boys, Joseph also went to Australia. I have no idea what happened to the other boy.

I have the death info for Elizabeth and have it parked as a very credible piece of information. However, I have NO evidence it is actually hers except for the time and place.

I thank you for helping.

Reg
