Where are they Buried?
« on: Friday 19 July 13 16:53 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the graves of my ancestors. There names are  Armand & Charlotte Garland. They both died in Hull. Armand died July 1910, Charlotte Oct 1911. I have been to the local Crematorium but there is no records of them. Armand was born in Poplar, London, Charlotte was born in Hull. If anyone has any ideas as to where i should be looking, i will be very grateful.

Maureen

Thanks George4, i have tried the history centre & also Hull Crematorium. There is no records of them. All i can think of is they were taken back to London. I don't know where to start if that's the case.
Thanks for your help

Hi Maureen,

I found an Armand [spelt Armond] Garland listed in FreeBMD aged 56 and his death was registered in the July,August September quarter of 1910; on Volume 9D page 175 in the district of Hull.

Charlotte Garland is also listed in FreeBMD aged 55, and her death was registered in the October, November, December quarter of 1911; on Volume 9D page 392 in the district of Hull.

Going by that information, it appears they both passed away somewhere in Hull, and you might have to check with all crematoriums or graveyards for possible burial.

You can use the above index numbers i.e. Volume and page, to obtain a death certificate from the GRO.

That might indicate the funeral director, and if it does indicate funeral director, and provided they are still in business, you can approach them for more details.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards
