I think trullwell is correct, not RAMC. See badges below, L to R 1902/47, 1947/53 and 1953/58

I still think it could be RAMC, the photo is not a good scan so it is hard to tell if the badge is more open than it looks certainly when blown up it could be.....what clinched it for me was the round patches on the arm with what look like the edge of the Red Cross. I have a few of the old RAMC badges myself so was aware of what they are like....also my son was in the RAMC.  :)

We probably will never know ::)

I agree with Terry...The arm patch does look like a circular badge with a what looks like part of a cross...the cap badge has darker areas in places which indicates shade consistent with open work.
