Census record 1891  Dewsbury area  (Would that be West Riding Archives?)

Michael Brett born 1851 (+/- 1)  Manchester

Possibly employed as a warehouseman or visiting relatives.

If it's the same Michael Brett you are looking for who was an unmarried Jobbing Warehouseman - and living in Manchester in 1901 - the one living in the Dewsbury area in 1891, isn't the same person.

I think Michael's birth has been registered as Michael Britt. there is no Michael Brett shown on birth records for Manchester c 1851.

In 1881, there is a Michael Brett of the correct age living with his family in Gomersal -- sort of the Dewsbury area (!) -- but that Michael was born in Ireland. I cannot see the correct Michael in 1891 at the moment.

The one you are referring to June - was written as Michall in 1891.

Just to also add -- the Michael Britt registered as born in Manchester in 1851 on the Civil Registration index -- is with his parents in Manchester in 1861 -- but transcribed as Bretts and shown as born Manchester. Father, Philip is born Ireland.
