1841 Census Look-up please
« on: Sunday 12 June 05 16:48 BST (UK) »
Hi

It would be great if someone could look up the following family for me in the 1841 Census. (I already have this family in all other censuses)

Details of the family I am searching for are:

Abraham Worsnop Born 1807 (Primitive Methodist Minister)
Elizabeth Worsnop Born 1808
James Worsnop Born 1838
Rebecca Worsnop Born 1840

The family were in Ilkeston in 1841 as far as I know.

Thanks

Hello Winto,

Sorry not to have responded earlier, I must have missed your posting.  But, I'm afraid I've have searched through the whole of Ilkeston and found no Worsnop's at all.

Sorry I haven't got better news.    :(   If you have any other possible Derbyshire area's I'll have another go.  Do you know where Rebecca as born, for instance, as her birthdate is the closest to 1841?

Best Wishes
Sue    :)

Hi Sue

Thanks for taking the time to look for me.

I think I may have now found James in Shelf, near Bradford and Elizabeth and Rebecca in Sheffield but still no sign of Abraham. It seems they were spread out for the 1841 census! Abraham was a methodist minister and as such did spend much of his life time travelling. I am just hoping that he wasnt missed out of the census altogether, say perhaps because he was on the road or something!

I will keep looking but will just have to broaden my search.

Thanks again

Hi
I know your posts re the Worsnop family are quite old, but I thought I'd contact you to say my ancestor, John Wesley Worsnop was Abraham's brother.

Best wishes,
Rebecca
