Thanks for that but I already knew. I live in Dundee so that was easy to find. Unfortunalty I can't get any more info on my grandfather as i'm only related through marriage therefore I am not the next of kin! It's a long story, one which is very private. But thank you for your help.

sorry if you think I,m harping on but even non relatives can apply for service records but certain personal info will be taken out more than likely medical info and such, have a look on the veterans site for a full explanation of applying .
