Davis of Roscommon

My ancestor William Davis is reputed to have been born in 1791 in Co Roscommon and his one son, Benjamin Bradford Davis claimed to have been born there as well in 1826. However the rest of William's children were all born in Co Down or Armagh. They emigrated to Australia in 1833.

Does anyone know of people surnamed Davis in Roscommon in the late 18th & early 19th centuries or have any clues as how to find further information?

RC registers are now online free... have you searched these?

They were Church of Ireland, I'm afraid, but I'd be happy to have a go - where are they to be found?

The Davis family were immigrants aboard the ship 'Mary Catherine' arriving Oct 1833. The indent recorded:

Mary Ann Davis 8
Thomas Davis 4

1814 (Age 23)

Sarah Mayer - 
about 1820 (Age 29)

Yes of course. Many thanks. I've put that all in Co Down as I recall, but it's the Roscommon connection I haven't been able to manage.

so....what details are on the 2 Marriages?  Townlands?  Father?  That is what I'd be looking for.
