Cabra House, Newton Lane, Chester

My great-grandfather, Henry William Glover, died in 1920. In his will it lists his residence as Cabra House, Newton Lane, Chester. Does anyone have any idea what Cabra House was (boarding house, apartment, etc.) and what the actual address on Newton Lane it would be?

Apparently Cabra House was used by the military. In the 1914 Directory it has

Department of the Finance Member of the Army Council. (Detached from the War Office for duty at Head Quarters of the Command)
Local Auditor, F.O. Bownas esq.
Assistant Local Auditor, S.F.H. Goffin esq.
Officer in Charge of Time-Expired Men &c. Hon. Capt. T. Pearce, Quarter Master retired pay, Cabra House, Newton Lane, Chester.

I was thinking it may have been something to do with the military since he was in the RAMC but was not able to find any reference to it. Do you have any idea where on Newton Lane it was?

I've looked at all the old maps but none of them have the name of the house marked. It is not in the 1911 census either.

I did look at this earlier but did not reply as I could not find Cabra House. Newton Lane is still there so can be viewed on google maps. It's a long road. I would hazard a guess that the southern end would have been the more likely location of Cabra House as it was closer to the city at that time, and buildings spread north over the decades. Like Stan I couldn't see it marked on an old map. There are some large old houses on Newton Lane - perhaps one of them was 'converted' and renamed Cabra House.  :-\

Cabra is a suburb of Dublin,  a townland in County Down, Northern Ireland, and a place in Spain. As the house does not seem to appear in the 1911 census, it was either built after 1911, or an existing house was renamed after the army took it over.

Listed in the Electoral Register Years 1919 and 1920 for Newton Lane, Cabra House is situated between Shenley and Grove House, no house numbers listed.
Shenley is now Shenley Lodge Bed & Breakfast No. 6 Newton Lane, which has a lovely photograph on their website.
Next door is Chester Brooklands No. 8 Newton Lane, which also has photograph on their website.
I called at Chester Brooklands and was informed by a very helpful owner that it hadn't been Cabra House previously.
Maybe Cabra is the house to the right of Shenley Lodge, which can be seen on their website?
Next week I will check later Electoral Registers to see if any house numbers appear :)
