It would be best to wait & see if there is any information in the Poor Relief Records. In the Application for Poor Relief it will give details of the family's circumstances & will mention the date of the parent's death.It will also show the ages of any children, dependents, & also those working. As Alexander was born before 1855 there will be no birth certificate to look for. It is possible that Elizabeth also died before 1855 & therefore there will not be a death certificate either.
