Look up request for Cirencester
« on: Friday 28 June 13 07:04 BST (UK) »
Not sure of the protocols of lookups. Im new at this. Sorry if this is all inappropriate. Any direction would be appreciated. I was wondering if you could look up the following. Hi,
Welcome to RootsChat.
Children of John & Mary HARRISON, a Mason of Cirencester, baptised at St John the Baptist, Cirencester:-
03/02/1832, Diana, born 19/01/1832
24/12/1830, James, born 02/09/1830
11/10/1829, John Parsons, born 24/06/1829
The ONLY burial I could find is a Mary HARRISON buried 23/10/1836, aged 36, at Cirencester.
I could not find any record of John & Mary's marriage.

Fantastic,

Thankyou Victor. That is definitely the family. Strange there is no marriage record. My next challenge is to find where James Harrison ended up. He was in jail in 1851 at Northleach but then disappears. I think he married in Gloucester in 1852.

Victor, can I ask if the baptism records gave an address because the census records have the family in Cricklade St in the 1840's and 50s and im wondering whether the family was living there in the 1830s?

Helena, the info you have found on Ancestry is basically my own reseach.

Much appreciated

Hi,
The data I gave you came from my own personal resources, and only gives Cirencester as the abode. Shall I check the actual entries in the parish records on my next visit to GA?
A James HARRISON married Eliza WATSON at St Mark, 1852 Gloucester 6a 328 Mar Qtr. Whilst in GA, on my next visit, I could provide a transcription of this marriage if you wish?
GA may also hold the Northleach Prison Records, in fact, I'm sure they do.

Victor,

Thanks again. Can I ask another question? Is there likely to be more detailed information in a full transcript of MARY HARRISON's burial record (the one you found in 1836)? Similarly, I have two possible death records for her husband JOHN HARRISON in Apr qu 1845 / or April qu 1850 both in Cirencester. Am I likely to find any info on the burial record that can link this individual with his family (a relationship/an address/a parent?).

A full transcript of James Harrison's marriage to Eliza Watson would be brilliant - especially if it could tie him to Cirencester or his parents etc??

Im also fairly certain Mary Harrison had a sister living in Cirencester who may have died unmarried in Oct qu 1849. Is there a possibility her death/burial record would list her parent/father's name?

Any full transcripts of material would be greatly appreciated if you ever get the opportunity Victor. This is a family Ive been stuck on for ages. These little breakthroughs have been really helpful. Thanks again

Hi,
From my own resources I can only find the following which may be of interest:-
Mary HARRISON buried 27th May 1849, aged 19, at Cirencester, abode Park Street, Cirencester.
Ann HARRISON buried 6th October 1850, aged 41, at Cirencester, abode The Beeches, Cirencester.
I will check the burial entry for Mary Harrison's burial in 1836 at Cirencester, but I don't think there will be any further data recorded.
I will also check the 2 burial records for John HARRISON for you.
I will also provide a full transcription of James HARRISON's marriage.
I'll get back to you next week.
