Geordie - your best way forward is as I outlined above.  Buy a copy of the marriage cert as the info on the 1939 register does not support a birth in Newcastle See further info below

There were 3 births to the 1923 marriage between 1925-1935 which can be found on freebmd

William died 1946 Devon

Did Mary re- marry 1947 to  Frederick G Bartlett?  She died as Mary Ann D Bartlett in 1994 - same birthdate as the 1939 entry

So where did Newcastle come from?

Per GRO online she was Mary Ann Daisy Palmer mmn Blackler

There is an 1890 marriage on freebmd - Frank Palmer with a LILY Harriet M Blackler on the same page but there are other Palmer/Blackler marriages

Suggest you check the 1901 and 1911 censuses or buy a copy of her birth cert
