Thomas Jolley, 1843, "Kill'd"
« on: Tuesday 25 June 13 15:54 BST (UK) »
Hello.

While searching for the death of Thomas Jolley, I came across the burial record in Wigan via lan-opc.org.uk and it states that he was killed in 1843.

Just wondering if anyone has any information about this, how was he killed?

Hi OlleyKe

I was thinking maybe he was a miner - there was a mining accident at Winstanley but not until November 1843  ???

Hi,

I am researching Mary Cunliffe who was married to Thomas Jolley for six months before he was killed in 1843. Their daughter Sarah was born after he died. My ancestor, Mary Jolley was born in Wigan in 1848, the illegitimate daughter of Mary Jolley, nee Cunliffe. William Jolley was recorded as her father in her Australian death certificate. I am assuming that my bloodline ancestor was either Thomas Jolley's brother William or his father, and I am leaning towards his father. Any information about the Jolley family around 1848 could be helpful and appreciated.
