Hi Marienne
Hope all is well with you.

I've been looking records for a little girl, born and died too soon.

Mary Philomena Quarrie/Quarie of 8 Kent Square, was buried at Ford on 19 Nov 1900, aged 17 months.

The image (attached) appears to say she was buried in Section B along with 4 other little ones.
But Paddy Greengrass' Section Usage List has that as a Private Section.
Given Dad was a dock labourer, I'd guess they weren't very well off at all so I'm wondering if what I am seeing as a B is another section letter written very badly?

If finding out involves a lot of work firkling round fiches, don't bother, but if its reasonably simple to check would you have a look?

Thanks
Boo

Hi Boo,
no problem, you have helped me out so many times.
Mary was interred as Mary Philemond Quarie on 20 Nov 1900, and the grave is BZ 2790 which as you guessed is a public grave. there are 5 adults & 5 little ones in the grave and all the babies were buried on the same day... how sad that must have been.

Marienne
Really cold here, like being back in Liverpool in January!

Many thanks Marienne, much appreciated as always.

I realise there will be no grave marker etc but I like things to add up and make some sort of sense. Your help means that it all now seems to add up - though yes, its incredibly sad.

Boo

'Technically', this thread is for finding out who is buried in a particular plot.

However, I think Marienne will forgive us both if we sidetrack a little.

If you need a look up to see if a person is buried in one of the main RC cemeteries (Ford and Yew Tree) in Liverpool, give us a name and a year of death and we'll see if we can find a record.
If we can, then from that info Marienne may well be able to tell you who else was buried in the same grave.
