Hi Marienne
Could you please check out a grave for me at Ford.  The number is R541.  A James Maguire of 241 Westminster Rd was buried on the 31st August 1927, age 63.  Could you tell me any details about this grave please.
Thanks
Lin

Hi Marienne

Its the bad penny turning up again :-)

Whenever you have time, please could you look at Ford grave SP 774 (though that 4 may be another 7, its written badly) I have a record for a Patrick McKeon who was buried there on 2nd March 1882.

Trying to work out if I have the documents for the right man as the age in the burial index is quite a bit out at 46 but the death cert , which has the correct occupation and home address, says the same, whereas the funeral record from St Anthony's says 60 (or maybe 50 if I squint sideways!) but I can't reconcile either of those with ages on census returns either.

Hopefully he had company in there at some stage which will shed a bit more light on it.

Thanks once again

Boo

The address 241 Westminster Road was a home for the elderly called Kirkdale Homes.

I'm sorry but I don't think Marienne will be able to provide additional information, there is an SP burial in the end column of the burial record image further up the page, but this burial (numbered 774) is for Public SV section not SP so it was a single interment not a private grave.

Thanks Blue,

Some I win, the others continue to elude me :-)

Sorry to have wasted your (and possibly Marienne's) time. I did look at the link you gave a while back for section usage and that gave SP as a Private section.
Could you explain how I can tell if it was a public grave within the private area? That way I can avoid wasting everyone's time in the future .
Thanks

If you look at the right end column and then go up the first section letters to show are SV then further up SP so your one is SV not SP. This guide shows usage:-

Hi Marienne,
Still working on the Conlans in my tree. I have Jospeph P Conlan in Ford C15. buried 19 March 1900 aged 57. Could you please tell me if anyone else is buried here and if anyone owns the deeds. His last address  would also be useful-this is not showing on Liverpool RC Burials on ancestry.
Thanks
Wendy

Which just goes to show that I should LOOK more carefully at both the records AND replies in here!

and I will try harder in the future :-) Thanks Blue, your help is much appreciated, maybe I'll go and get the old eyes tested - though new specs won't improve the brain :-(

I always look at the other burials around the entry. If there's more than one person assigned a grave number in the same section it's usually a Public one. The section letters should be on every entry but they usually aren't in the older records.
