Thank you so much for your help.

The burials you found are all related to the John Benussi I'm looking for, who was 91 when he died in 1904.  The first John was his nephew, aged 63.  The second was his son John, aged 19 (so my John must have been the deed holder), and the last two were his grandchildren.  So it's strange that "my" John is not with them, isn't it?  His 3rd wife, Isabella, who also died in 1904, was buried at Anfield Cemetery, Liverpool, with her adult daughters, but he's not there either!  He was a very wealthy man when he died, so he must have a headstone somewhere!

Anyway, I'm very grateful to you for checking.

Cheers!

Hi Arkay,
It does seem strange that he's not there, so I checked all the variations I could think of; ie Banussi, Benussi, De/annussi, De/anossi, Ve/anussi, Ve/anossi, etc, etc  but no luck. (I did find a Berbyshire which I think should be Derbyshire!)
If he was wealthy there may have been an obituary in the local paper (Mercury, Post) or at least a funeral notice, maybe some kind person reading the forum might have a look for you. My UK newspaper access only goes to 1900 through NLa & NSW State Library.
good luck

Yes, that's my problem - the papers I've had access to end at 1900, so I'm hoping more recent newspapers will be put online soon.

His name was unusual, and I've found a multitude of spellings for it!  Thanks again for checking all the variations.

Hi,

Thank you for your kind offer.  If possible, can you check SD784 in Ford Cemetery?  I think my G Grandfather called Peter Johnson is buried there and am interested if he is the only family member.

Regards,

Jo

Wonderful.  Baby Nellie is with her Dad.  Thank you so much, now I see why the plot meant so much to Granddad, and we will have to do something for them in his memory.
Thank you very much Marienne

Hi Marienne,

Could you tell me the plot owner and those interred for R522 in Ford Cemetery one of those buried should be a Joseph Martin buried in 1939.

Thanks,

Blue
