Hi All
My 3 great grandparents were Thomas Kennard and his wife, Sarah Blanch
Thomas Kennard, was born at Brenchley in 1785 and died at Tenterden in 1861
Sarah Blanch, was born at Rolvenden in 1789, and died at Tenterden in 1860
They had a number of children:
- William b. 1813 - emigrated to NSW 1838, to NZ, 1840 d.1875.
- Thomas b. 1816 - emigrated to NSW 1838 - ?
- Robert b.1818 - d. London 1893
- George b. 1820 - emigrated to NSW 1838; died NSW 1899
- Sarah b. 21 Oct .1824 ----
I have been trying to work out what became of their youngest child, their daughter Sarah.
She was dedicated at the Holy Lane Baptist Chapel, Tenterden, 19 Dec 1824.
For the 1841 Census, the family were at Parke Gate, Tenterden listed as KENWARD
- Thomas KENWARD plus, his wife Sarah and children, Robert and Sarah
No children were listed with the parents in the 1851 census!
That is all that I have on Sarah Kennard!
I have tried a few possible marriage index entries, but have been unsuccessful.
The parents were buried from St Mildreds. But I couldn't find her in their marriage index.
When they got old they were assisted by Sarah Blanch's niece, Charlotte Verrell
[Charlotte was married at St Mildred's].
I have just read (in another post) that there was a Presbyterian church in Tenterden.
Could someone possibly look and she if she is listed in that in the 1840s
Any other suggestions of where to look for her would be appreciated!
I have wondered if she moved to the city, or possibly emigrated.
Thus far I haven't seen any sign of her.
This is one of my mysteries
Thanks in anticipation
