Hi, I am looking for any information on a Herbert Henry Hopetoun (possibly not his real name) born about 1877? He married a Amy Wright. I have him living in Berry, New South Wales, Australia in 1904 and in 1905 they were living in Meek's Road, Marrickville, Australia under the name Herbert Henry Hopetoun with his wife Amy and child. Found a New South Wales police record which showed that he deserted his wife and child and he also used the alias of Joseph Fubbs.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

This is the birth of the chap whose death is noted in Reply #3.

He married PEARL O'DEA in 1908 (#11661) and is registered on Electoral Rolls with her in Mascot, Sydney, with other family until 1963.

Just thought it was worth checking out since Joseph William FUBBS used various aliases but looks like they are two different chaps. Joseph William FUBBS (parents ??) and Joseph George FUBBS (parents William & Emma).

Divorce Papers can contain a wealth of information. They may include certificates of both marriages, which should reveal his date/place of birth and parents. Should also show births of all children from both marriages. http://investigator.records.nsw.gov.au/Entity.aspx?Path=\Item\497254
