This refers to Jim Houston managing the farm for years as his father before him did.
     

Jim Houston was my uncle. My mother , his sister, Dorothy Agnes Houston . She immigrated to New Zealand.

John Houston and Agnes Hunter are my grandparents. They lived in Montreal. My mother Dorothy
Agnes Houston and her sister Jean moved to New Zealand.

James G Houston son of Robert and Jessie was my grandfather.   He died in Swift Current in 1970 had 3 daughters Betty, Helen, Evelyn and one son Robert.

Ancestry DNA test results tell me I'm quite closely related to this family!! And certainly they seem to have lived around Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, where I come from and still live near! I'm researching as many of the older people as I can to try and ascertain what the link might be. I seem to descend from the couple who are Mary Mundell Houston and Peter Little, Mary being the daughter of Jane Houston d 1911 ( only a few miles from where I was born 43 yrs later! Delighted to find this thread and all the information. And I'd love to hear from any one of this family.

Jane Houston was my G Grandmother, Mary's sister, Margaret McKay Houston my Granny.
Will pm you my e-mail as i have built up a history of the Houston's.

Thanks to DNA testing we now know that Robert Houston was my great grandfather. That explains why so many Houston descendants are my top Matches on ancestry and elsewhere. I'm delighted to discover this and be able to place him in great grandfather position on my tree.
