School Lane Chandlers Ford

First post on this forum so be gentle, i am on the hunt for any information about a family called Mitchell from School Lane Chandlers Ford in particular a James Mitchell B2679 11th Batt Rifle Brigade who died in flanders in 1916 any help information is much apreciated

Theatre of war was France entered 21.7.1915

James was awarded the British, Victory and 15 Star medals

You are lucky - his WW1 service record has survived and can be viewed online at Ancestry.  There are 21 images for viewing

He was born around 1885 and enlisted at Winchester in 1914 and was unmarried at that time

James' Service Record records siblings -

George (also serving in the Forces), Albert John, Fanny, Laura, Ada, Eliza, Selina.

Therefore the 1901 census would appear to be correct.

Many thanks downloaded his service record i have just added his 1914-1915 star to my collection, living in belfast i have no idea were or what chandlers ford is like, would it have been a tight knit community were James death would have made a local paper at that time
