William Parr, Prescot.
« on: Sunday 09 June 13 00:58 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm struggling to trace back from William Parr of Prescot. He was born in 1791 and Married a Mary in 1808.

Among their children was a John Parr born 1818.

Any help would be great

Thanks very much

Donna

Actually looking at this again Im not so sure about the born in 1791, I had taken that from a census but think I have the wrong William Parr on that one.

I think I've narrowed it down to two entries ....possibly.

I've found William (widowed) on the 1851 census working still as a filecutter and living with his daughter and two apprentices.

The census puts his birthdate at 1787 in Windle.

I searched the parish entries for William Parr's born this year in Lancashire and have two results. Neither of them in Windle itself.

One is at All Saints Hindley Father Occupation Sayear
The other at St Leonard, Middleton Father Occupation Inn Keeper.

Hi Donna.

I jump in and out of this site, maybe I should spend more time here!.

I have looked at my family history for some time, and my Parr family comes also out of Prescot and were mostly married, christened and finally some buried in Saint Ann's church.

I have a John Parr (b 1819) marrying Jayne Chorley (b 1817), ring any bells?

I wonder if there is a tie up??

I also have some photographs of the Parr burial stones in the church.

Hi Gordon,

I do indeed have a John Parr in my tree born 1819 (sibling to one of my direct line) but I haven't got all the details on him as yet. My John Parr is son of William Parr and Mary Ellison.
I've done quite a bit of research on this part of the tree so please give me a shout if there is anything I can help you with.

Donna :)

Hi there, haven't been on for a while, but came across your post, just been given new information for my family tree, including information on Ann Parr Born 1875 Whiston (Prescot) she married Thomas Bleasdale in 1900 in Prescot. I have her as daughter of William Parr and Ann Pendleton but there I am having issues tracing William, wondering if you had an ideas?
Cheers in advance Chris Turner

www.freebmd.org.uk has the Parr/Pendleton marriage in 1868

www.lancashirebmd.org.uk shows the marriage was at Christ Church Eccleston

Have you looked for the family on the 1881 census which is free at www.familysearch.org

Thank you for that  info CaroleW, I have been mainly tracing wife's family on the Isle of Man and now turning to mine, mainly from Prescot/Widnes area.

My main sticking point is finding Williams Birth, I am sure I will get there, thank you
