Hi Jan,
I live across the big pond so don't know much about Sussex geography. I'm not sure whether Lewes Sussex would be in West Sussex. If it is, would you please check for an Elizabeth Eades who died there in the first quarter of 1913. According to census records she was born in 1829  but not in Sussex.
Thank you for the offer for look-ups. Regards, Nan

Hi Nan,
Lewes is East Sussex - the county town and it has its own record office though currently it is moving and therefore closed.   You might be best starting a separate topic as Chris in 1066 has a lot of Lewes records and may be able to help.  The registration district covers a lot of villages though, not just Lewes itself.   You may need to get the death certificate to see exactly where she died before you can find a burial.  Neither will give much info to help with her birth place though, unless you are very lucky.   Where was she in 1911?

Hi Elaine

You will have to order John Blake's death certficate

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

It won't give his parents but will tell you where he died and the informant may be a relative.
This site is helpful as to what to expect on English and Welsh certificates

http://www.dixons.clara.co.uk/Certificates/indexbd.htm

Once you know where he died I might be able to find a burial for you - Chichester District covers a lot of parishes so it would be tricky to search without some idea of area.

Thank you Sillgen and Chris in 1066 for your help. Unfortunately I don't see Elizabeth or other immediate family members in the list provided by Chris. I went back through records I do have and am now not convinced that my Elizabeth died in Lews, Sussex. It's back to 1871. It is definite that at that time she was in Hertfordshire with her daughter, a teacher. I know her husband died in 1862. I'll have to see if she remarried after 1871.
Your efforts on my behalf are greatly appreciated,
Nan

Hi Jan, I am still looking for the parents of Henry Gander born about 1576 possibly in Hurstpierpoint. He married Annis? Hall 5/10/1607 in Hurstpierpoint. He had 2 children both in Hurstpierpoint. Jane 1607 and Richard 1611. Any help that you could find for me would be greatly appreciated. Regards Poppyann
