Keogh

Looking for information about Paul Haydn Keogh born 1883 in Liverpool England.
I have Ancestry but would need someone with world membership to access his Canadian records.
I know he was a member of the Canadian military in WW1.
I think he emigrated arriving in either Halifax, Nova Scotia or St John, New Brunswick around 1913 but not sure of that date.
I have no idea whether he married or when or where he died.
Any information would be gratefully received.

There is a Paul Keogh, 22, who was on the Numidian which arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia on 6 Mar 1907. The passenger list indicates he was a railroad labourer and was destined for Winnipeg, Manitoba. Here's a link to the passenger list (he's on line 4):

The Attestation Papers for Paul Keogh (http://www.rootschat.com/links/0ufr/) indicate he was living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan when he enlisted. His mother is his next-of-kin so he wasn't married at that point.

Paul Haydn Keogh died in Vancouver, British Columbia on 9 Jul 1969. Here's a link to his death registration: http://www.rootschat.com/links/0ufs/ The registration indicates he was a widower. His sister-in-law was the informant.

I can't seem to find him on the 1911 Canada census or the 1916 census for Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The 1921 Canada census will be available to search within the next few weeks.

Thank you for that information.
Your death certs show so much more info than ours.
His Attestation papers have given me a lead to follow here - the fact that he had served with the Kings regiment.

If there is any info about his marriage to Maria Parsons and any subsequent children, I would be most grateful.

Incidentally, Paul Haydn Keogh was my great grandmother's nephew.

The registration of BMD events is a provincial jurisdiction so there isn't a central database. As well, privacy laws vary from province to province and as a guideline, births from less than 100 years are not generally available. If they married in Saskatchewan, there aren't any onliine databases for marriages yet.

Just a small note to add - Paul's death cert. says he has only been in BC for 5 1/2 years. So that 1945 voters list is probably not him. He wouldn't have moved out until ca. 1963/64.

Hi Olly:

There is a 1982 death cert. for Paul's sister-in-law - Phyllis G. Klassen. Her father's surname was Parsons, so she is probably Maria's sister.
