The 1861 entry is definately the family I'm searching for ten years earlier Ladyhawk.
The 1851 entry is curious though and I'm not sure about it either.  Some facts are correct (William's occupation), some not (his age) and some close (birthplace is in close proximity to that listed).  The two young girls are a complete mystery - are they listed as daughters?

Just rechecked the original and yes they are noted as daughters,
Williams age definately looks to read 22 Diss Norfolk,surname looks to read ALRICH

Going out shortly but will take another look and if I find anything else will get back too you

And well done for tracking the ALOUCH entry btw - great sleuthing!
I'm inclined to think the entry is them and was trying to establish if there were two daughters I knew nothing about.

And baptisms too... wow.  OK so Mary Ann S could in fact be Sarah Mary Ann.  Great work.
I'll check for more details about Rosetta.

Not sure if this will help or confuse more but I have found a 7 year old William Aldrich in Diss in 1851. He is the nephew of George Aldrich, Butcher, and his wife Rhoda.  All are said to be born in Diss though. The ref is HO107/1821 f 312.

It is interesting that another of William's sons becomes a butcher ie Robert in the 1871 census.
