Newbold school date ?

Could anyone date this, possibly from the teacher's clothing. It's Newbold school and there seems to be several Newbold's about including Leicestershire, Cheshire, Lancashire and Derbyshire. There is a St. Peter's primary in Rochdale. Could the crucifix the teacher is wearing be significant, could it be a Catholic school or maybe she was just religious and it was a C of E school. There does appear to be or have been a Catholic primary at Newbold Verdon in Leicestershire. All thoughts welcome  ;D

Sounds like Rochdale- 1900 to 1910
In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Cheers dobfarm, I had been leaning that way, why couldn't they put a place name on there. No info on the back unfortunately. Most seem to be in some kind of uniform, though the boy second left back row and girl third right, same row seem to be going to a party.

Mid 1880s for a date, before 1889 at least.

That early China ? I had wondered if it was pre 1900 but thought late 1890's at the earliest. Can I ask on what you base your findings oh wise one  ;)

You could contact the church of St Peter to ask if there are any photo's of the old school as the present school at St Peter one is quite modern

There appears to be some rough stonework as well as brickwork in the photo. This does not appear to match Newbold Leics in current photos of the school https://www.newbold-cecp.leics.sch.uk/children/gallery/
