I come to this thread late. I descend from Alexander MICHIE (1644-1723) and Isobel SNADON (1646-1681) through their son Alexander. They are my 8th G Grandparents. Through the many Michie Snadon Paterson family intermarriages I have a number of DNA matches around the world, especially in Utah.
Regarding Fanny Frances Erskine SNADON, I have her parents as James Snadon b 1740 and Isobel Paterson b 1744 from her baptism 22 Dec 1765.
My line from Alexander MICHIE (68-1740) and Janet McLAREN (1660-) goes John MICHIE (1691-1764) James MICHIE (1735-) Isabella MICHIE (1763-1863) James MICHIE (1801-1863)
Then James MICHIE (1830-1917) who came to New Zealand about 1873 and had his name recorded here as James McKAY. He's my GG grandfather.
