LRFHS CD
« on: Sunday 26 May 13 11:24 BST (UK) »
Hello

I have a LRFHS cd but I can't work out how to search using it! So far I've been struggling through by sorting the fields alphabetically, but I see that you can search using surname etc. When I type something in and press apply filter, it always says no results. I can search by parish however. Can anyone help?

Kind regards

Sam

Greeting’s Sam & Welcome to the Leicestershire Boards……..

I assume we are talking about the “ Leicestershire Project CD “ ?

Instructions has told me by the person who produced the CD ……

When main page appears
Click on  “ surname tab”
Drop down menu appears
Select  “is”

Now In the box to the right of this
Type in the Surname you wish to search for
Remembering to type the first letter in CAPTALS rest in lowercase

e.g. Smith

Click apply Filter icon.
Search progress  shown by green bar bottom Task bar

DO NOT OPPERATE ANYTHING WHIST THIS SEARCH IS IN PROGRESS

All results will pop up when it’s finished
You now scroll down till you find your person.

You get a wider choice by using only the surname

If you wish to shorten the list
Click on the “ Parish tab “ top task bar

From drop down menu
Select  “in “

Select from drop down list of Parishes the one you want
Click on apply Filter icon
WAIT it finishes

Remember when you have finished your search and wish to exit the CD
Then
Click on remove filter icon

Then click on Clear Icon

Then you can X out by clicking top right hand X as usual

I know this sounds a bit long winded. ……..
But it becomes easier the more times you do it

MIKE. ……..
