Hi All,

Many thanks to all those who attended yesterday, particularly to Wiggy who organised the Meet.  I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new friends and over a great meal, in nice surroundings too.

The only downer of the day for me is how do I explain the teddies to my big kids, particularly Little Ted who has a very large purse for a little teddy and has the power to command his own railway platform!

For those interested in Love, there is no Love in my family tree (please be careful how you read that)

Wiggy, I might catch-up with you at a DPS meeting one day as it is not far from me via the Ring Road.

Yvonne, I have discovered I have something in common with your man - I was watching the car racing too on 7Mate this afternoon,

To add to my story, I moved from Sydney to Melbourne in 1974.  Also I have updated my profile with a real photo that used to appear in the Sydney daily press on a regular basis.

Definitely looking forward to next year's meet.

Regards to all

John   :)

Hi John,  ;D

It was great to meet you also,
yes it was very enjoyable meeting everyone & swapping family history stories & the food was great too, the time went too quickly.

Yes Wiggy did well,  :D

The car racing was quite eventful with blown tyres & the car that was the meat in the sandwich,  ;D

Just tell your big kids you didn't know the teddies were going to be there,  :D

Yvonne

Many many thanks, Wiggy.  PM arrived safely!

I think I'll have a mini-meet in Canberra - but it'll only be me  ::)

If you have one when I'm at Quarryvale, I'll come!   :)

I am ever so very glad to hear the positive feed back - thank you all.    :D :)

I must admit to a degree of apprehension before hand  - just hoping it would all be well     :-\

- then when we arrived and found the advertised menu wasn't anything like what we were given on the day was a bit of a trick - considerably more expensive for people.   :o    I felt a bit embarrassed about that - but as it worked out it didn't matter at all!    And it as very nice food that's for sure.

I rang last night to say thanks and to pass on our appreciation to Maki in particular - they were very busy and said they'd ring back - that hasn't happened yet . . . . . . . ::) ;)

It certainly is a good central spot and handy for all forms of transport.

It was perfect for all types of transport. Will be even better if they put an airport at Dockland (That was a dumb idea I heard on the radio this morning).

The parking was fantastic and 2 gentlemen were amazed when I gave them my ticket when I moved my car. $15 all day was a very reasonable price and so so so close to the venue.

Leonie and John and anyone else thinking of visiting/joining the DPS meeting . . . . . my friend takes her own teabag!!  and everyone has to bring their own cup/mug apparently - At least that's what I think she was saying!   ;) (Coffee sachet coming up!)

We all think a rail line to the airport would be a wonderful idea - everyone except those who live in the proposed route probably  - might have to move house - also those who have to pay for it might have second thoughts!    ;D

What a good scout you are Ted!  Very kind!  :)

Wiggy, many thanks for the heads up. Looking at the DPS website it is a no cost self-help show so I might play safe and take a coffee sachet too. If Leonie gets there too, it could end up as a mini-'Mini Melbourne Meet'!
