Burial lookup for Elizabeth Rosser, St John, Herefordshire
« on: Thursday 23 May 13 11:12 BST (UK) »
Hello,
Can some kind person with access to St John, Herefordshire burial registers lookup the burial of Elizabeth Rosser please? According to the NBI she was buried on 11 March, 1831, and was aged 62. I am hoping that the original record gives additional information, such as the name of Elizabeth's husband, and her address.
Thanking you,
Kind regards,
Denise Thompson

there is a post about st john on the main Hereford board, is seems to be an integral part of the cathedral

If you go to  herefordcathedral.org and click on a summary of archive sources you will see mention of st john burial records further down the page but I cannot find whether they are there or at the national archives.

the site does however give an email add. for the library (under contact or visit us),they may be ab
le to tell you where the records are kept, and may possibly be able to answer your question.

sorry not to be of more help

hello Denise,

Do you still need some kind person to do a look-up for you - re Elizabeth Rosser of St John the Baptist, City of Hereford? If so, I could do it for you when the Hereford Record Office re-opens for one week in early August. At present, the Hereford Record Office opens for only one week per month - because they are preparing for a shift to a new building.

Rosser was a very uncommon surname in the City of Hereford. So your Elizabeth Rosser was probably the wife of or the mother of William Rosser of the City of Hereford, bargeman.
