Hi,

I know you want shipping records, but have come across the different spelling of Jeffery.  I have found a school record which mentions Robert B Jeffrey

School Records (APWs) - Parent/Guardian

Name: JEFFREY John

Register Number: 0451
Admission Date: 27 Jul 1885
Parent / Guardian:Robert B JEFFREY
Address Brown St 879
Birthdate" 09 Apr 1879
Last Day: 01 Feb 1886
Destination: Private
Comment: Further enquiries to Hauraki Thames Indexing Group

The above area fits in with the 1880-1881 Electoral Roll for Robert

Source:1881 Electoral Roll
Electorate:   Thames
Record Number:    614
Surname   JEFFREY
Given Names:   Robert Blight
Place of Residence:   Broad St

Have you tried searching under the alternative spelling?

Cheers

Jane JEFFERY, a daughter of James and Hannah married a William ANDREW from the Illogan area.

They came to NZ via Ballarat in early 1870s.

GailS, a RC member is descended from them, and may have info about the other JEFFERYs.

They had a son John Blight ANDREW, who married two of my g-grandmothers sisters.

Must be something in the water I have just made contact with a lady (through RC) through my ALLINGHAM line, turns out it's a small world as she knows my sister from many moons ago.........

I do have some JEFFERY info but you will have to forgive me as it will take a while to get..........we shifted about 6 months ago and got a new computer so I put my info on a stick...........and when I plugged it into my computer there was nothing there  :'( ..........but all is not lost..........I also put it on some disks...............and if that turns to custard I have a rellie who I got the info off in the first place.......

From my Family Tree (compiled a long time ago, not by me and has bits missing, and no doubt some incorrect info) (but a good place to start) Jane JEFFERY born to James and Hannah Blight, and Hannah's father being John. I know Janes parents lived in Illogan........possibly have access to some photos.........

Amazing
Firstly:  in all the information I have on my ggrandparents there has never been a John in the family but it is hard to imagine 2 Robert B Jefferys in the same place at the same time! or is it ?
May be John belongs to Robert and Harriet Jeffery I still have to figure out where he belongs if at all.
The family name is Blight my GGgrandmothers maiden name but my grandfather never used it nor carried it on.
I have some documents that do spell the name the Jeffrey and others
There are so many more documents available now than there were when I originally did this. I thank you for all your help.

I dont know when Robert came to NZ but he married in 1897
So Ian C that would make us related also all be it distantly

kind regards LynM

Hi Gail.
Jane Blight JEFFERY is my GGrandfathers elder sister. I have Steven as her father and Mary as her mother but  these are not confirmed by document.
No rush with the info I can wait.

I am amazed Thanks Lyn

Hannah Blight who married James Jeffery on 13 Jul 1840 in Illogen was the daughter of Mary Kemp and Stephen Blight.  James and Hannah had seven children on of which was named Stephen Blight Jeffery.  He was my grandmothers father.
