The on-line county baptism index suggests a William WELLS baptised 1782, as Sandra says.
There were WELLS in Fladbury; some 12 being baptised between 1781 and 1808. It may be that his parents moved away to the big city between birth and baptism.

http://www.fhs-online.co.uk/ is a pay to view a transcription site. The search engine, which is powerful gives you just enough to make a basic guess. Want more and you pay.
If normal digging doesn't find William's parent's marriage, it should be in the BMSGH county marriage index (1660-1837), providing they married in Worcestershire.
