Can anyone help with the age of this photo? Also don't know what his uniform is? I know its not Police or Postal. Prisoner, tram worker, soldier of Gordon Highlanders have been suggested on another thread.

Late 1860s/early 1870s, before about 1875 anyway.

I have a prison photo of OH's gggg from Bedfordshire, taken in the jail. His prison suit looks like it was made out of an old sack, rough material, and this one looks like fine material. Also I don't think a commercial photographer would have been doing nice portraits of prisoners, as this one. Just a thought :)
