As I believe that Manchester Library is one of the few places that has GRO Death Indexes for 2007/2008 would it be possible for you to look up 2007 and 2008 Indexes to see if Loana Pattinson has an entry for her death in either year. She drops off the Electoral Rolls in 2008 in County Durham 2008 and her death should have been in County Durham.  She should be 97/98 years old and if the informant gave her correct birth day it should be 4 July 1910 or give me the whatever birth date on the index if found. Thank you.

Loana Pattinson nee Bowes was in the Hallgarth Nursing Home, Durham City and and she drops off the Electoral Rolls in 2008. She was born 4 July 1910 and left England as an infant bound with her parents to Scranton. Pennsylvania. The family returned at some time either before WWI or after. As she was born in 1910 she would be 98 years old in 2008 so it would be a reasonable assumption that she died then. The Electoral Rolls were correct on her married name. The only possible reason for the missing Loana on the Death Index could be that her name is there as Patterson or Pattison. Many thanks for your help. Very much appreciated.

I don't know if this link will be of any help

http://nd.durham.gov.uk/gro/newgro.nsf/search?open&C0326955070407042009$

You can search birth marriages and deaths (dates between 2001 - 2010) although
I’m only seeing  her 1935 marriage entry

Have you thought about contacting the Nursing Home to see if they have any details of a date for her death

The Durham Records Office site does not seem to give a date when they cut off their death index prior to 2010 but a search for any Smith or Jones dying in County Durham ends in 2005. So there is a possibility that Loana did die in 2008. As for the nursing home my wife has agreed to call as she might get a better response than me.
