* Walsh Born *. London England (possible Kensington)
« on: Sunday 12 May 13 12:02 BST (UK) »
Hello I am conducting a search for The above mentioned Man, * Walsh. * was born and given up at birth. His Mothers name was Mary Walsh, unmarried at the time. * was brought up in a convent in London until the age of 7, and then became part of the group known as the "forgotten children". He was shipped to Western Australia and brought up in a Catholic farm orphanage until the age of 15. He is still alive and lives in * Western Australia. He is becoming quite frail, and is desperate to find any living relatives. He is alone but my family keep an eye on him. Hence me trying to find out whatever I can on his behalf. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated. It is terrible what has been done to so many of these people.

Kel Turner

Rootschat is really here to help people find their ancestors, not their living relatives, and because of that, we do have a 'no living people policy'. That means if you do post names and information about them it will be removed to protect their identity and privacy.

If anyone thinks they can help with this query, please use PM (personal message) system to exchange information on living people.

Does this chap have his original birth cert?

If not you can search for it on our free website http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/

A copy of the cert itself can be obtained for £9-25 from http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

As it is likely that his birth mother is dead now,we may be able to find out more about her family.
If she gave him up for adoption,I have a feeling that no father will be mentioned on the cert though.

Please let us assume that the mother could still be alive (I left her name as it's not uncommon and there's no other identifying details about her)- from the son's age it is entirely possible. Even if she is already deceased she could have gone on to have married and have further children who might not have been told about an illegitimate half-sibling.

There is nothing in the original mesaage that gives his age, only that he is now becoming quite frail,so I'm presuming he must be in the 70's or 80's,and his mum at least 20 years older.

Maybe I shouldn't assume ?

Anyway my info has at least enabled Kel to do his own look up on FreeBMD and obtain a birth cert for his friend if he doesn't already have one.

A bit younger than that Carol and mother could easily be living.
