Owing to the popularity of the former Sydney mini meet it has been suggested that we have one in The Newcastle Region. :o

Not to be outdone; a suggested site is the BELMONT 16FT SAILING CLUB on beautiful Lake Macquarie. ;D.....People will be envious... ;)

This would be on a Saturday and for Lunch and afters. Both sides of the RCtr's are welcome, no not the cranky and the nice side, the OH's that slave patiently away while we just finish this post. ::)

We will even take members from the Central Coast, Upper Hunter, Coalfields and if we so pleasure possibly even Sydneysiders. :P

Will leave it open to suggestions for a date but mid to late June is a starter. ???

Hi

Will try to make it this time.  the 16's is in a great location, bus past the door or a short walk from Belmont. Buses to Belmont leave the bus stop opposite Newcastle Station every I/2 hour, 349, 350.

Any more Sydney siders want to come to the bestest district in all of NSW .... stretches from "our" side of the Hawkesbury up to say Bulahdelah .... And NO, I am not leading with my chin,  I am simply expressing my opinion  ;D  The bestest, very bestest and that's just the way it is.   

Unless I have a sudden family commitment, OH and JM are coming either 22 or 29, which ever suits.   Anyone needing a lift from around Swansea, please PM me.

Oh how I wish I was visiting this Summer.

It's pure nostalgia........ my OH and I met an old Australian guy and his wife in Spain some years ago and they came from Belmont, Newcastle, Australia. They were delightful and visited us in England some years later.

He had been a Spitfire pilot during WW2, flying for the Royal Australian Air Force, and had been shot down in Belgium, passed down the Comet Line to Spain and eventually released. What a fantastic story! :)

They invited us to visit but at the time we were both working fulll time and it wasn't the right time.

Sadly they have now both pased away. :'(
