Jackson's of Oldham
« on: Monday 06 May 13 00:23 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, im looking for a little help if possible;
i'm trying to locate marriage details for my ancestors James Jackson and Jenny (I dont have a maiden name). i know they lived in Oldham and had at least one child, Robert. Robert's baptism certificate is as follows;
Baptism Record 12th October 1817, St Peter's Chapel, Prestwich cum Oldham. Robert Jackson, son of James and Jenny Jackson. Abode, Oldham. Fathers Occupation, Hatter.
Other than this baptism record and the listing of James Jackson's name on his sons wedding certificate (in 1837) i have no other information on James and Jenny.

Any help would be fantastic, thanks
Luke

The  baptisms that Heather listed, including Robert, all have a father with hatter as occupation

On 1841 census

Class: HO107;  Piece: 547;  Folio: 14;  Page: 22

There is a James Jackson with same children except Robert. His wife is listed as Jane.
                                                  -------------------------
1841  census

Class: HO107;  Piece: 547;  Folio: 16;  Page: 26

There is a Robert Jackson  age 24 with wife Jane age 24.

Robert's occupation is hat lab

Both families live  in Oldham Below Town.

Hi everyone, thanks for all this work. I have no prior knowledge of James and Jenny's other children so this really gives me something to dig into. i'd not really considered Jenny being wrong before and Sally being the correct name, i'll keep it in mind as I search.

Louisamay, would it be possible for you to list the details of the first 1841 census - Class Ho107, I have the other census but had no idea of this one

Thank you all
Luke
