Hi,

Abraham and Elizabeth Moon had a son Isaac baptised at St Oswald, Guiseley 1st June 1845. Also a daughter Martha baptised 1st November 1846 same church.

Isaac married Martha Smith 15th June 1867 at St Peter, Bradford.

I have found seven children to the marriage, 6 girls and 1 boy Sam. There doesn't appear to be a James.

It might help finding James if you gave us some dates to go on.

A warm welcome to Rootschat - is this your Abraham?

1851 Census (ref  HO107  2285  22  18)
Abraham (44) and Elizabeth Moon (34) + children Hannah (17), Abraham (10), Emma (12), Mary (9), Isaac (5), James (2) and Charles (6mths) - all born Guiseley, address New Row, Township of Guiseley.

Abraham is a "cloth manufacturer linen, employing 8 men".

As suggested by pjs12, do you have dates re the James you are researching?

1881 Census (RG11  4340  37  37)
Abraham (41), cloth manufacturer and Jane (39) Moon + children Charles (14), George R (11), Mary L (8), James W (5), Florence (2), all born Guiseley, address Upcroft House, Carlton Lane, Guiseley (Registration District - Wharfedale).

FreeBMD has the birth registration of a James Walter Moon, Wharfedale, Sep 1875, 9a 157.

The above Abraham is a possibility for the Abraham Moon, born 1841, brother of Isaac Moon, born 1846 - sons of Abraham and Elizabeth identified in the 1851 Census?

Hi jmoon

If you do a search of this site you should find a thread with photo of Abraham Moon's mill that I put on there some time ago
There are some of Abraham Moon's family buried in St Oswalds graveyard.
