Jenner-Battye
« on: Sunday 05 May 13 15:01 BST (UK) »
Posting this on behalf of a 2nd cousin. Her father Frederick Gerald Jenner (1922-1992), married Doreen M. Battye in the Pancras district Middlesex (London) in the period April-June 1942. They split up, and then Doreen died in the early 1950s, but they did have one child, a son. It is thought that the child went to live with his grandmother in Wales.

My cousin is curious to know more about this part of her father's life.

Hi - not quite sure what information your cousin is hoping to find, but Doreen's 1953 death registration details are easily found on FreeBMD, as is the son's birth (both in Wales).  He is still living so details of him cannot be posted on Rootschat.

Ah, thanks! From my Ancestry.com view, I thought I had access to FreeBMD up to 1915 only.

If you've got an Ancestry sub, then you've got FreeBMD up to 1915 and then the GRO index right up to 2005-6.

Plus of course FreeBMD per se on www.freebmd.org.uk up to wherever they've got to  :)

Is the FreeBMD considered complete for around 1922? I can't seem to find Doreen, assuming that she was born in the UK.

Thanks. I did do a search from 1919 to 1925 for all Battyes but I wasn't as sharp as you.
