Royal Marine Pte George Bishop
« on: Saturday 04 May 13 15:39 BST (UK) »
Hi I'm trying to find out details about Private George Bishop who was in the Royal Marines.
The only details I have are that he was in the Marines in 1899 when he married Kate Curnow (who may be listed as his next-of-kin) He was married in Falmouth, Cornwall and his father was given as Thomas Bishop deceased. He was 29 at the time so was born about 1870.
Kate Curnow married again in 1916 so I'm thinking George may have died by then, unless they were divorced ?? This may not be the case as she wasnt exactly truthful with her personal details on the marriage certificate, so he may have died long after this ??

Hi,
I realize your message about George Bishop is old now, but hopefully you will get this.  I, too, am curious as to what happened to George Bishop and where he was born.  George is an ancestor of a friend of mine, and I am helping her.  Also you stated that Kate, his wife, married again in 1916. Can you please tell me how I can find that?
Thank you,
Anita Woodward
