Marriage & Obituary Hamilton Please
« on: Thursday 02 May 13 23:31 BST (UK) »
Hoping that some one can help me close the file on Mary Louise Feeney.

Mary Louise Feeney born Bolton Lancashire 23 Feb 1915. died 8 Aug 1964 Hamilton Ontario. Daughter of Michael Feeney & Gertie Beedles. Michael died 1921 Bolton, Gertie died 1922 Bolton, leaving 3 children orphans.

Mary was taken to Canada by her Uncle John Partington on the 9 Nov 1922, arriving 18 Nov 1922.
I know that she married Tom/Thomas Lennie/Lenny but don't know when, and also had a Son Tom/Thomas.

If some one is able to find a marriage & her obiturary I would be forever grateful.

Thanks
Trish  :)

Vbain - Any further information to positively identify Mary Louise Feeney ?  Poster states she died in Hamilton !! Have my doubts the person you are quoting is the same one  ???

Looking at Canada Voters List earlier there was a Louise Feeney listed Park Street, Waterloo North but her husband was Hubert not Thomas.
If you check Hubert Feeney on the OCFA site he is buried with the same reference as Louise M Feeney.

So you are definitely quoting the wrong person.  ??? Married name Lennie/Lenny.

Unfortunately, privacy laws will restrict your efforts to find a marriage. Marriages are only available to the public up to about 1928 with a new year added annually. Mary would have been too young to have married within this time frame. Beyond this date one can apply for a cert from the Ontario Government but must meet certain eligibility requirements to do so.

Lennie seems to be a relatively common name in Ontario but there are only a few in the Hamilton area at this link to the telephone directory. Put just Lennie in the Who? space and Ontario in the Where? space. Contact info is provided and a letter or two might turn up a rellie who can provide further info.

Canada Voters List for 18  Lochearne Street Hamilton West 1949 lists Thomas Lennie  - Press Operator
and Mrs Mary Lennie.

The couple were at the same address in 1945 under Mr Thomas Lennie (Machinist) and Mrs Thomas Lennie

Different address 133 Royal Avenue. Hamilton West in 1963 - Mr Thomas E Lennie (Die Setter) and Mrs Mary Lennie, also another 2 males mentioned, one was the same name you gave for the son in your original post.  It would seem he may be married.

The 2 males and the female listed in 1963, all appear together at 482 East 37 th Street in 1968/1972.

In 1965 482 East 37th Street - Thomas Lennie Snr (Factory Worker) + the 2 males and a female

Hi Trish,

If you are looking for their burials, you can contact the City of Hamilton cemeteries administration via email. They have the largest system (67 Cems) which covers Hamilton and surrounding area (ie Burlington & Stoney Creek). They have been very helpful for me in locating some of my ancestors, including those that died fairly recently :-) There are private and church cemeteries administered in Hamilton as well so you may need to contact them if your ancestors are not in the Hamilton system. Hope this helps,
