Hi Cathy

We have corresponded before. Samuel Alexander's line is exactly as detailed in the House of Glendonwyn, except that Samuel's youngest child is not included, as he was Edward, born in 1844 in Liverpool after the family had moved there in that year following Samuel's bankruptcy in Dublin. Samuel had obtained a post as medical officer on the quarantine ships in the Mersey. Inevitably, he caught typhus fever and died in 1847. Sarah (nee Young) his wife died in 1855.

Hi Lesley:) thanks for your reply  Nice to Hear from you:)
Im very Interested in trying to work out this Line Via house of Glendonwyn Book   Apparently there may be a Few errors there in re to data in there, and Dna Results Submitted by CLendinnen Descendants (males) here in Australia show No Connection as we thought via Paper Trail in Book to the Clendinens/Clendenins that went to USA from Co Down   But a very Close connection to Armstrong Family who were in Co Down at same time and too were Originally Border Reivers in Scotland
the Wiliam glendinning who *supposedly* married Rose Ann Kirkpatrick in Scotland(that marriage has not been found) had several Children to Her Apparently   And then we have the William Glendinning who Married Rose Fisher in Co Down in 1713  where the Clindinning Line comes from Via Alexander his descendants Coming here to South Australia   Ive been trying to study that book  *house of glendonwyn* And I think they may have Mixed up the two William glendinnings  One from Borgue Who was protestant and Apparently there is record in a library at kirkcudbright, in a *Family Tree
of Glendoning Family*..that states
*William Glendoning succeeded to Meggarland and Barcroft in the Parish Of
Borgue in july 1690, He purchased the Estate at Quarterland in Co Down and
died there in 1764
my john clendinnen was born circa 1770 in Downpatrick co down according to Wesleyan reports  he was a minister, so somehow he slots into this alexander clindinning lot son of William glendinning and rose fisher
regards
cathy:)

The William Clendenin/Glendinning that married Ann Kirkpatrick was a
pronounced Catholic. The William Clendenin that married Rose Fisher and left
his will in Quarterland, Killinchy Parish, County Down, Ireland in November
of 1764 was a Presbyterian. I do NOT believe they are the same person.
that is from a clendinnen researcher  and I tend to agree with him   so somehow in that book the 2 Williams were mixed up
